Therapy. Blogging for me really provides a therapeutic outlet for working out my ideas. I am going to begin a series of posts that I will categorize as "The Road Ahead." That means anyone who actually reads this thing (Hi Mom!) can click on that category to see the string of thoughts unfold.
I haven't done a good job of communicating vision with clarity over the past year. God has really laid it on my heart as a conviction that The Crossings has found a comfortable status quo in doing the weekly routine. We have found some level of stability in our entrepreneurial life cycle and that, as surprising as it may sound, is not necessarily a positive thing.
When God called me to plant a church He also gave me a vision for how that church is supposed to function and how that church is supposed to impact a community and world. Somewhere in the journey I have allowed myself to get sucked in to the daily grind of making a weekly church gathering take place and the vision God has given sits on the shelf gathering dust.
God is calling us to a turning point at The Crossings. He is calling us to a season of risk on so many different fronts. He is calling us to be a faithful people who trusts that He will do what He says He will do. He is calling us to repent from our comfort and get back out on the edge of this battle that exists all around us. He is calling us to do some radical things that will transform culture ... and create a new culture.
In the coming days I will be working through all of this as a patient on the couch before the greatest therapist ever know - my creator.

Preach it, brother! I saw a quote from Martin Sheen, who said "Everything important in the world is accomplished by fanatics!" My opinion of Martin Sheen aside, I'm still plumbing the depths of that comment for truth, but I appreciate it's flavor.
